Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, installing, or using the SugarMitra application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not download or use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App, including visitors, registered users, and others who access or use the App.

Use of the App

SugarMitra is provided for personal, non-commercial, informational use only. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — obtaining an indicative sugar range prediction based on a urine strip colour scan — and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations while doing so. You agree not to:

• Misuse, modify, or reverse-engineer the App or any part of its underlying logic.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the App's normal functioning.
• Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App or its developers.
• Share your account access with others or create accounts on behalf of other individuals without their consent.

Medical Disclaimer

SugarMitra is an academic application developed by engineering students and is not a certified medical device, diagnostic tool, or regulated health product. The sugar range predictions provided by the App are indicative estimates only, derived from colour comparison of a urine test strip image. These predictions:

• Must not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Must not be relied upon to make any health, medication, or dietary decision.
• May be affected by lighting conditions, strip quality, image clarity, and other factors.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider and rely on certified laboratory tests for any medical decisions. In the event of a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

User Accounts & Deletion

To use certain features, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, and age. You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping any account access secure on your own device. All account data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.

You have the right to permanently delete your account at any time from within the App. Upon deletion, all locally stored profile information — including your name, email address, and age — is permanently removed from your device and cannot be recovered.

Camera Permissions

The App requires access to your device's camera to photograph urine test strips. By granting this permission, you acknowledge that images are processed solely for the purpose of generating an indicative sugar range reading. Strip images are not stored permanently by the App, are not transmitted to any external server, and are not used for any other purpose.

Accuracy & Limitations

SugarMitra's predictions are based on colour-comparison algorithms and should be understood as indicative estimates rather than clinical measurements. Factors that may affect prediction accuracy include, but are not limited to:

• Ambient lighting conditions at the time of the scan.
• The quality, brand, or expiry status of the urine test strip used.
• Camera resolution and focus.
• Timing between strip dip and scan.

The developers make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of any prediction generated by the App.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and underlying logic of SugarMitra are the property of its student developers, created as part of an academic application at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE BENGALURU). All rights are reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, publicly display, or commercially exploit the App or its content without the prior written permission of the developers.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or deceptive purpose, including but not limited to:

• Providing false or misleading health information to others based on App readings.
• Attempting to extract, scrape, or harvest data from the App.
• Using the App to create or distribute misinformation about health or medical conditions.
• Any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SugarMitra and its student developers shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the application.
• Any medical or health decisions made based on the App's indicative predictions.
• Any inaccuracy, error, or omission in the App's output.
• Any technical failure, data loss, or service interruption.

Your use of the App is entirely at your own risk.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SugarMitra's developers, contributors, and Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue access to the App at any time and for any reason, without notice and without liability, particularly given its nature as an evolving academic application. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account as described under User Accounts above.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Tamil Nadu, India.
