Information We Collect

SugarMitra collects only the minimum information needed to personalise your experience within the app. When you register, we ask for:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your age

We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, device identifiers, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above. We do not run advertising SDKs or analytics trackers within the app.

How We Use It

The name, email, and age you provide are used solely to:

• Identify your profile within the app.
• Personalise the sugar-range results shown to you (for example, age-relevant context).
• Allow you to manage and, if you choose, permanently delete your account.

We do not use this information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than those listed above.

Data Storage & Account Deletion

SugarMitra does not store user data in the cloud or on any third-party platform. All information you provide remains stored locally on your device and is associated solely with your local use of the app. This is a deliberate design choice to keep your information private and minimise data-related risk.

You can permanently delete your account at any time directly from within the app. When you do so, all profile data — including your name, email address, and age — is permanently erased from your device and cannot be recovered. There is no server-side record to delete because none is ever created.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies, or any third party whatsoever. Since data is not stored on external servers, there is no centralised database of user information that could be shared, sold, or breached.

Camera & Image Data

SugarMitra requires access to your device's camera to photograph the urine test strip. The image is processed on-device to generate the colour-comparison result. Strip scan images are not transmitted to any server, are not stored permanently by the app, and are not used for any purpose other than generating your indicative reading in the moment.

Children's Privacy

SugarMitra is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us via the Support page and we will take steps to address the situation.

Security

As a student-built academic application, SugarMitra follows basic good practices to protect any information handled within the app, including keeping all data local to your device. However, no software can guarantee absolute security, and we recommend not entering sensitive personal or medical information beyond what the app requests.

Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times. You may:

• Update your profile information at any time within the app.
• Permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app.
• Uninstall the app, which will remove all locally stored data.

There is no centralised database for us to query or modify on your behalf, since no such database exists.

Data Retention

Data is retained only for as long as you choose to use the app. When you delete your account or uninstall the application, all locally stored data associated with your profile is removed. We do not retain any copies of your data after deletion.
