What SugarMitra Does

SugarMitra is a mobile application designed to give users a quick, indicative idea of their blood sugar range using a standard urine test strip — without needing a blood draw, lab visit, or specialised equipment.

The user simply dips a urine test strip as instructed on its packaging. As glucose levels in urine change, the strip's colour pad changes accordingly. The user then photographs the strip and uploads it to the SugarMitra app.

How It Works

SugarMitra analyses the colour of the uploaded strip image and compares it against a calibrated colour-to-range reference model. Based on this comparison, the app predicts an approximate sugar range for the user — and this can be done both before food (fasting) and after food (post-prandial), giving a fuller picture across the day.

The entire process — from strip scan to result — typically takes under a minute, making it a convenient first check before deciding whether a proper lab test is needed.
